Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kathleen A. Blocker (nee Norcross), age 77, of Summerfield, Florida on Sunday December 12, 2021.

Born in Tansboro, NJ, Kathleen married her soulmate Gary L. Blocker in 1985 and moved to Florida. Kathleen is survived by her son Jeffrey Duble (Kathleen), Gary’s children: Gary Blocker, Jr., (the late) Barry Blocker, David Blocker (Susan), Sharon Blocker and Cheryl Blocker. She leaves behind her 5 grandchildren Kathleen Waldropt (the late Nigel), Danielle Duble, Jeffrey Duble (Yolanda), Jaclynne Duble, and Steven Duble (Gabrielle), along with Gary’s 3 grandchildren Allison Blocker, Katherine Blocker, and William Blocker. As well as 17 great grandchildren.  Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Marvin and Katherine Norcross as well as her brother Marvin (Joan) Norcross. She leaves behind her loving nephew James Norcross, and niece Janet Norcross Sniezek (Jim) and their 3 children.

Kathleen was loved and adored by her lifelong friend (the late) Roberta Cole (John J) and their children Lisa Starner (Steven), Deanna, John R (Jessica), and Cheryl Vance (Jeffrey) as well as their children David Sharples (Aubrie), Douglas Sharples (Lexy), Sean Alexander, Jason Alexander, Madison Cole, and Peyton Cole.  Her amazing neighbors Tim and Tammy Meaders were always there to help and support them in any capacity.

Kathleen brightened your day with her smiles and laughter, touching so many people along her life journey.  As an LPN for almost 50 years, she was the owner of Medco of Florida from 1988 -2016, and most recently she worked at Freedom Point in The Villages where she was known as Mamma K by many of her coworkers. She was loved and appreciated by the staff and residents alike, making an impact wherever she went.  Kathleen was a true blessing with a beautiful soul, lighting up any room that she entered.  She was a devoted Elvis fan and had a tremendous compassion for rescuing cats and dogs.

As requested by Kathleen, a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to:  Guiding Eyes for The Blind611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598; or on-line at:  Donate.Guidingeyes.org.  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-480-5959.  Sentiments may be left online at www.baldwincremation.com.
