Kathleen Ann Blom, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, affectionately known to friends and family as Dehya and Nonna, died unexpectedly on November 9, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and joy that will remain forever in our hearts.

Born on February 17, 1946, in New Jersey, she was a straight-A-student and attended Charles E. Gregory School of Nursing. Dehya devoted her life to nurturing those she loved. She was the embodiment of unconditional love, always putting others first and enjoying all of life’s simple moments. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren – she actively participated in their lives and celebrated every milestone, no matter how small. For the past 12 years, she wrote a unique and thoughtful poem each day that she would read to her grandson while he was on his way to school. She made the holidays magical with her exceptional cooking, exquisite gifts, and beautiful decorations. She loved daily trips to Starbucks, cooking with her family, babysitting the fur grandbabies, cruising and traveling with her children and grandchildren, and cheering on her grandsons during car races and kung fu practices and ceremonies.

Her family was the center of her world, and she was cherished by her children and grandchildren. She was widowed (Jacob Michel Blom) and is survived by:

Daughter Heather Michele Ramos, her husband Charlie Ramos and grandson Malbec Lorenzo Ramos;

Son Eduard Michel Frans Blom, his wife Tonya Blom and grandchildren Jade and Brandon Revett;

Son Michael Kevin Blom, his wife Ramona Pramedass-Blom and grandsons Avinash Michael Blom and Ashvin Nicholas Blom; and

Brother Charles W. Rannells III, his wife Carmen Rannells and nieces Courtney Rannells-Vehec and Carlene Rotondo.

“A mother’s love is eternal, it is a bond that cannot be broken, a connection that cannot be severed. It is a legacy that will last forever.” Momma, we will miss you more than words can express. There is a huge hole in our hearts which is indescribably painful. You were and will always be the most wonderful mom.

A celebration of life will be held with family and close friends.
