Obituary
Kathleen “Kathy” Dodge, 63, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2024.
Kathy was born on March 21, 1961, in Red Bank, New Jersey, to Charles and Claire (McLaughlin) Brahney. From an early age, she demonstrated a strong work ethic by helping her parents run their store, Brahney’s Market, and later went on to pursue higher education at the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, Massachusetts.
Kathy was locally employed as a bookkeeper for almost three decades. She was a profound lover of animals, gardening, and good music, and was always a friendly face to those around her. She always made a point to stand up for those without a voice, notably animals and children. Her humor and empathy will be dearly missed by friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Clare Brahney. She is survived by her children, Steven Hall, Chelsea Hall, and Brandon Dodge. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters, Jane Wallace and Barbara Brahney.
A celebration of life will be held for Kathy in the spring of 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The Humane Society of the United States.
