Obituary
Kathleen McCasey Jakovenko-Hill, 63, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning, June 1st, 2022, after a two and a half year battle she fearlessly and faithfully fought against Pancreatic Cancer.
Kathleen was born to parents Thomas McCasey and Quava Adams on March 8th, 1959, in Madison Heights, Michigan. She graduated from Adlai E. Stevenson High School and joined the United States Marine Corps shortly after, where she was stationed at Camp Lejeune. Ever since she was a young girl, she had always expressed that she wanted nothing more than to be a mother and have children to love and care for of her own, which eventually came to be.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Robert Hill. She is also survived by her former spouse, John Jakovenko, with whom she had her three children: John Jakovenko, Elisabeth Jakovenko, and Rachel Jakovenko. She is also survived by her two brothers, David McCasey and John McCasey, one sister, Victoria McCasey, her father, Thomas McCasey, and her two granddaughters, Emma Jakovenko and Maia Jakovenko.
Kathleen worked at the Volusia County Courthouse as a Clerk of the Circuit Court for nearly two decades. She was a devoted and born-again Christian and lived to serve and walk with the Lord; she unfailingly praised, thanked, and sang His glories for everything in her life until her very last breath. She taught and shared her love of the Lord with all her children. Kathleen was incredibly proud of her family and left behind nothing but beautiful memories.
