Obituary

Kathleen “Kathy” Joyce Morin, 54, passed away in Tampa, FL on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 after a month long fight with pneumonia.  She was with family as she fought with a strong will- but the damage to her lungs could not be repaired.  She will be remembered for her smile, her wonderful laugh, and the genuine warmth in her voice in her greeting.  She had an amazing talent for numbers and dates; a birthday was never forgotten.  She was a ferocious proponent for family, and no sacrifice was too great for her.

Kathy was born to Bill and Pat Edoff in Dearborn, MI on July 21, 1967.  She grew up in Livonia and Farmington with older brother Mike, and younger sister and brother Karen and Eric.  She graduated from Bishop Borgess High School in 1985 and received an associate’s degree from Henry Ford Community College.  She married her husband Vince, in 1993, and immediately started a family of their own with Joshua (Kayley), Jake, Sabrina and Mikey.  Her desire to become a nurse would never be, replaced with the desire to raise their children as a stay at home mother.  As the children grew, she lent her talents to Henry Ford Hospital West Bloomfield as a nurses’ aid, using her uncanny ability to connect with people to help patients and their families.

A perfect day for Kathy would be to be outside with family and friends, working on her garden, or enjoying a sunny day at a lake or park.  Surely, she is in that moment now, with some of her most favorite people who preceded her in death- her mother Pat, grandmother Norma “Gigi”, and beloved uncle Dennis.

A private family viewing will take place at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Spanish Springs downtown of The Villages, FL on Thursday, December 30th followed by cremation.  A celebration of life is planned in Michigan on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23815 Power Road, Farmington, MI 48336 starting with a greeting at 9:30am and mass at 10:00am.  There will be a reception including lunch afterwards at Monaghan Knights of Columbus in Livonia, 19801 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI 48152, the details of which are still being finalized.  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs; 352-480-5959.  Sentiments may be left online at www.baldwincremation.com.

Dear Sweet Kathy, you are the light and life of the Hengy family. Our years growing up together are filled with so many wonderful and happy memories, how can we go on without you? My heart hurts and my soul is saddened with the tragic loss of you from our world. What I wouldn't give for one more day to hug you, laugh with you and just smile while talking about all the memories as kids growing up, teenagers being mischievous, adults getting married, having our children and bringing them to understand the love of family and having so much fun. The camping trips, family reunions, holidays, sleep overs, concerts, days at the beach and running and playing will forever be carved in my mind and bring joy to my heart. You are the most loveable, unique and kindest person that God blessed this world with. I love you for eternity and cannot wait to see you at Heaven's door, I know you will be there with your beautiful smile and open arms to greet me. The Angels are so lucky to have you with them. Rest in Peace my darling Kathy, until we meet again May God grant us peace and send us relief from our sorrows. I love you, your cousin Nancy

Your smile and laughter always filled the room and was infectious to all around you. Your kind and caring heart to the people you loved as well as total strangers made everyone feel so special. I will forever miss our long talks and glasses of wine. Forever part of my heart.

Babe, you had a zest for life that was unmatched. From the beginning, your beauty, the blue eyes, the engaging smile and laugh, and how you could connect with people with such ease drew me to you. Looking though pictures, can you find pictures of me without a smile? of course; but you, never. We were opposites in many ways, but learning from each other as we went through life only made our attraction stronger. To the end, you set an example with helping others with your gift to help those in need of organ transplant. Everything I have and what we grew together I owe to you. You weren't a perfect person, but you were perfect for me and perfect for your family. I will do my best to go on and "be good". -Vin

Mom, for the first 28 years of my life, you've been nothing but supportive and amazing. From school, to raising me, to helping with my first home, there's nothing more you could possibly have done to make me, or any of us, feel more loved and appreciated. I just want to leave a thank you for inspiring me to be the "best me" I can.

Number one son will always love and miss you. I'm sorry we couldn't let you experience being a grandma, to really lay into that spoiling side of you :)

As a note for all the family, thank you so much for your words of support helping my Dad and all of us through this. We love you, and it is much appreciated!
