Obituary

Kathryn F. Crowell

Kathryn F. (Morse) Crowell of Deltona, FL passed away on Monday March 9th with the love of her life, her beloved Husband holding her hand. Known as Kathy to her friends. She was born on Dec 3rd, 1943 in Rock IL. She was the 5th child of Paul and Missouri (Bowman) Morse. For most of her youth she was a member of Dixon Springs Baptist Church, and was baptized there. Kathryn graduated from Pope County Community High School in 1962.

After High School, she moved to Aurora IL. Kathryn was united in marriage to George S. Crowell Jr. on April 24th, 1965 at First Baptist Church in Aurora. They have been happily married for 54 years. She was employed for many years at Western Electric in Montgomery, IL. In retirement, George and she build a house on the Lake of Egypt in Southern Illinois, and lived there many years before moving to Deltona FL.

Kathryn had a strong faith & belief in Christ as our savior. She worshipped and participated in the churches she attended in Illinois. Kathryn was a member at Valley Baptist Church and Harvest New Beginnings (formerly Oswego Baptist) in Oswego, IL, and Second Baptist Church in Marion, IL.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but mostly her grandchildren. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, and was full of love, life, and laughter. Kathryn was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt to all in her family. Always one to give a hand when anyone needed it, she would help in any way she could. Except for those who wouldn’t do for themselves. Her work ethic was remarkable and instilled that to her children.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, George S. Crowell Jr. of Deltona, FL; her children & spouses Scott (Venetia) Crowell, and Tracy (Jammie) Roscoe. Her grandchildren, Reese, Shawn, and Corey Roscoe, and Diana Crowell. Her sister Paula Pike of Montgomery IL, Brother Dayle (Patty) Morse of Glendale IL, Sister-in-laws, Roberta Morse of Dixon Springs IL, Rubie Morse of Metropolis, IL. Charlene Fee of Harpersfield, Oh.

Brother-in-law Lee (Mary) Crowell of Poinsettia, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Paul & Missouri Morse, her siblings Ruth Hager, Bill Morse, Gloria Benavidez, Jack Morse, and Gayle West.

No Funeral Service is planned for now, a celebration service will take place this Summer at Dixon Springs IL. to commemorate Kathryn’s life. More will be posted in the future.
