Obituary

Friday, June 7th, 2024, with a smile on her face and a song in her heart, this loving and wise woman was called home into the arms of her Father.  Kathryn E. Caruana, 78, of Cocoa Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Born, Brooklyn, New York, September 26, 1945. She spent her childhood as a Navy brat moving frequently and calling many different places home.   In 1971, she moved to Florida and made it her home for the remainder of her days.

Kathy lived life with an infectious joy that touched all who knew her.  Her radiant smile illuminated every room she entered, and her warm and welcoming nature made everyone feel like family.

With a passion for the law, Kathy dedicated four decades of her life to her career as a paralegal.  Her expertise and commitment to justice not only defined her professional life but also reflected her deeply held values of integrity and fairness.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Kathy found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life.  She cherished moments spent with loved ones, whether it be singing karaoke with friends or simply enjoying the beauty of each day.  Her love for music and laughter was contagious, and she leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and shared laughter.

She is survived by her daughter Shannon, son Sean, sisters Maureen and Elizabeth, 3 grandchildren; Zoe, Zane, Sean Jr., her partner John, and many dear friends she considered family.  Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Philip, and her parents Stephen and Gloria Molloy.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Church, in Melbourne, Florida, Thursday June 20th, 2024, at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude or St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care (Hospice) in memory of Kathryn Caruana.

Kathy will be remembered for her unwavering optimism, her zest for life, and her boundless capacity to love.  Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to have known her. May she rest in peace.

You were one of my dearest sister friends. Never a harsh word between us. You are miss beyond words. I miss our weekly lunches on my back porch. You fought a good fight and you did it with grace and bravery. You stayed upbeat and never showed your pain around any of us. Will carry you in my heart forever.

When I met Kathy I felt I had met a “sister” as my five sis’s were dwindling. We shared a lot in common. We both worked for attorneys, widowed and shared a common faith. When I talked with Kathy, I always came away feeling inspired. She had the most wonderful outlook on life. Her smile was contagious. Keep singing my beautiful friend. My life is better from having known you……. Until we meet again.

I was in disbelief of this new. I’ve known Kathy for a long time. She’s a dear soul, a sweet wonderful woman. We used to see each other at the stores on our lunch, breaks and always talk about the kids and her family and my family and all the wonderful times we’ve had. She had the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen. She will definitely be missed. God bless her and makes she rest in peace …all my love to the family. ( I left a green candle because it is the color of life, just like Kathy brought into our lives).
