Obituary
Kathy Sue Dutton, 66, was called home to God suddenly on December 10, 2020. She was born on November 9, 1954 in Dublin, GA. She spent her life in New Smyrna Beach, FL, where she started her family and built her business. She enjoyed a lifelong career as a hair stylist and owned Generations Hair Salon in New Smyrna Beach for more than 25 years.
Her smile lit up a room and she was always so ‘giving’ to her clients, neighbors and friends. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crafting.
Kathy was the heartbeat of her family and loved them fiercely. She was most at peace when spending time with them. She was the epitome of the very best ‘Nana’ to her grandchildren who all share wonderful memories of their time spent together. Her idea of a perfect day was cooking for her family and enjoying time together, especially during the holidays.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Mae Harmon and brother Larry L. Horne. She is survived by her husband of 13 years Jim Dutton, her children David Leon Robinson (Gentry) and Beth Ann Cline (Belinda); five grandchildren, Chandler Cory (McKaleigh), Colin Denauro, Payton Robinson, Eric Cline and Stephanie Cline; and two great-grandchildren Wesley Cory and Sophia Abbit; and sisters Robbie N. Simmons (John), Dolly D. Maddox (James) and brothers Alva Len Horne and Bobby A. Horne.
The family will hold a private service to celebrate Kathy’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathy’s name to the American Cancer Society. https://www.cancer.org/

This women right here, gave me strength when I was at my weakest. I will truly remember our small ventures, get togethers and many chats that had us laughing for some time. Always had a helping heart. R.I.P: My Sweet Angel of a Friend! Always in our minds & forever in our hearts.
She was always putting others before herself. She had a kind and giving heart and spirit; and that beautiful smile! I was blessed to call her my dear friend for many years. I am grieving this sudden unexpected loss and praying that God's grace will give be with each and every family member and know that her loving spirit will abide in our hearts forever.
Sincerely,
Libby Chitwood
Our deepest sympathy, this sudden unexpected loss...is very difficult for everyone. Of course, the family hurts so deeply, but please know “chosen-family” ...friends .....miss her so much too.
Just a week ago we were making plans to find a yoga class In 2021 - to attend, to do more fun things as this pandemic ends..and sharing all her “ many many crafts, and creations” AND of course to talk about hair...her many many amazing new looks.... all of this will be so missed. We have lost an angel - here on earth as she soars above..
Our prayers for you all ...at this difficult time.
Sincerely, Mary and Billy Gerlach
