Obituary

On Friday November 5, 2021 Katie Anne Littel, the precious daughter of Marvin & Carmen (Francoeur) Littel, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 42.

Katie grew up in St. Johnsbury VT and Manchester ME before moving to The Villages FL in 2018.

Every time her brothers would call or visit she would smile and just lighten up with happiness. She enjoyed her nightly rocks with Mom & Dad. Katie enjoyed going for walks, listening to music (especially Michael Jackson). She loved going to watch her Mom & Dad play Beach Tennis where she met a lot of friends that fell in love with her and gave her a LOT of attention. She was a sweet lovable young lady, who has been the love of many people’s lives.

Despite being born with hydranencephaly, a very rare disability causing severe symptoms, Katie was determined to beat all odds and impact the people around her in beautiful ways. Without spoken words or physical movements she was able to teach her family the meaning of trust, responsibility and selflessness that only she could. She taught her brothers that it was ok for kids to stare, to be grateful for what they have and even prepared them for fatherhood by proper diaper changing techniques.

We believe she even was challenging God to the very end being stubborn & fussy with the wings he had chosen as she wanted her own special wings!

Survivors include her parents Marvin & Carmen Littel of The Villages FL, brothers Eric (Lisa) Littel of Naperville IL and Casey (Elisa) Littel of Cumberland ME. Nieces & Nephews; Ethan, Ava, Atreyu, Shelby, Sophia and Ascher. Also several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her Grandparents – Arnold & Reba Littel and Gerard and Anne Marie Francoeur.

We would like to thank everyone for their love & support during this difficult time.

We would also like to thank everyone from the Compassionate Care Hospice team.

In lieu of flowers Donations in her memory can be sent to ; Amedisys Foundation 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816

The Day God Took You Home

In tears we saw you sinking,

And watched you pass away.

Our hearts were almost broken,

We wanted you to stay.

But when we saw you sleeping,

So peaceful, free from pain,

How could we wish you back with us,

To suffer that again. It broke our hearts to

lose you, But you did not go alone,

For part of us went with you,

The day God took you home.

I was so sorry to hear of Katie's death. It was my pleasure and honor to have known her and your family. Katie was one of what I refer to as my "Life Masters". She taught me so much, professionally and personally about truly listening in the broadest sense of the word and the ability to communicate without words. She taught me about the importance of providing and honoring choices. Katie was a beautiful, gifted woman and an amazing teacher.

I was thinking of her the other day, wondering how she was. I always get a jolt when connections like this happen to me. I feel blessed by such connections.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
