Obituary
Keith Byron Knowlton was born in Orlando on September 11, 1955, and passed away in his home in Winter Park, Florida, on May 26, 2024. He is survived by his spouse, Kim Knowlton, his son, Keith Aaron Knowlton, his daughter, Kristen Knowlton Smith, along with her husband, Brett, and their children, Emmy and Everett, by his stepdaughter, Sara Wyatt, along with her husband, Andrew, and their children, Annabelle, Riley, Luke, and Seth. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Jennifer Ray, his stepson, Jack Yandle, and his brother, Kenneth Knowlton.
Keith built residential homes, the trade he learned from his father, Ken. He built his first home at the age of 24 and built our family our last home in Winter Park at age 52, and continued to build homes for another decade. Keith loved his family, and being a grandpa was his favorite part of this chapter of his life. He also loved playing music, spending time on the water—fishing, boating, scuba diving, surfing, snorkeling—whatever he did, he was having fun doing it! He played a lot of sports—basically, if it bounced, he’d be playing—and watching sports was a lifetime favorite pastime.
Keith also enjoyed traveling and learning the history, the locals, where the best food was being served, and of course, where the best music was being played wherever we journeyed. Keith truly loved being a musician and was playing in a rock ‘n’ roll band by the time he was 15. He played in different bands throughout his life and was still performing last month as a skilled and talented lead guitarist in a rock ‘n’ roll band, RockSlyde. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
We love you, Keith.
