Kelly Michelle O’Brien, 58, of Venice, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025.
Kelly was a bold and authentic woman with an infectious laugh that filled any room and a generous heart for her friends and loved ones.
She expressed her creativity through crafting and painting, filling her home with handmade pieces and D.I.Y. displays created from shells and coral collected with her husband, Tim, along Venice Beach.
The beach was her happy place. She spent hours snorkeling in the Gulf, searching for shells along the shoreline, and soaking up the sun. Her weekends were never complete without sun-kissed skin and salt in her hair.
Kelly married her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Tim, in July of 1990. After leaving snowy New York for the sunshine of Florida, they settled in Venice and raised their four children. Best friends and rarely seen apart, Tim and Kelly cherished time spent on the boat, at the beach, or splashing in the pool with their puppies. “Team O’Brien,” as Kelly called them, was inseparable.
A devoted mother, Kelly found great purpose and joy in watching her children grow into adulthood. She treasured time spent with her kids, whether at the beach, shopping together, or playing with their precious dogs. Kelly adored her pets and lovingly considered them her grandbabies.
She lived colorfully, with a wardrobe and presence that reflected her individuality. Her eclectic, bohemian sense of style was an extension of who she was–independent, unique, and unapologetically herself.
While known for her glamour, Kelly also found peace in life’s simplest moments–quiet evenings on the couch, watching television beside Tim and their dogs.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Tim; her sons, Morgan and Logan; and her daughters, Kallyn and Hollyn. Family services will be private.
