Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Kelvin Lynn Camp, 72. Lynn, as he was affectionately known, passed away peacefully at his home in Apopka, FL surrounded by his family on October 9, 2025 following a heroic, short battle with cancer. Lynn leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Glenda; daughter Amanda and Jeremy Adams; daughter Elizabeth and Ken Fiquris; Granddaughter Navalei Adams and Grandsons Tyler Fiquris and Eason Fiquris. He was our strong, loving protector with a huge heart of gold that we will miss immensely.
In addition to his immediate family, Lynn is survived by brother Charles and Christine Camp, sisters, Janoice Darnell and Amanda Flangas, and sisters-in-law Gracie Camp and Deborah Phillips and brother-in-law Paul Lee as well as many cherished cousins that were like siblings and several nieces and nephews.Lynn was preceded in death by his father James Daniel Camp Sr, mother Etta Lou Tilley, brother James Daniel Camp Jr and grandson Kohlton Adams as well as his beloved Grandparents James Erdie and Irma Turner Tilley and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His love for his family was the cornerstone of Lynn’s life. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life in 1973. He never left the house without kissing her and telling her he loved her. His two girls were his heart. He was always the protective, loving daddy that was always there for his girls no matter what. The pride and joy of his life was his three grandchildren. He would tell everyone about how much he loved Navalei, Tyler and Eason and how much they meant the world to him. Anything with the words Grandpa on it given to him by the kids was his favorite things. He loved spending time with the kids doing whatever they wanted to do even though it probably was not what he wanted to do. Needless to say he spoiled those grandbabies. He wanted to hear whatever they had to say even if he had no clue what they were talking about he always listened. He was known for being the “fixer” of whatever toy was broken. Grandpa could fix everything! To this day he carried Glenda’s senior portrait in his wallet as well as pictures of his girls and grandkids. To his family he was the definition and example of unconditional love.
Lynn was a dedicated and hardworking man spending his life’s work in the textile industry. He retired after 40 plus years and made it two whole days of retirement before he said he couldn’t just sit home. He found his new joy working at Lowe’s which he enjoyed very much. His favorite hobby was cutting the grass. He truly enjoyed it and took pride in his yardwork. He also loved to fish and golf when he could. He always looked forward to trips to Arkansas to go fishing with his family. He absolutely loved spending his downtime on the patio having coffee, watching the birds, enjoying nature and watching movies. His last days he was able to lay in his bed and look out at the birds on the bird feeders and watch the water in the lake behind his house which brought him joy.
Although Lynn’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit and immense love he gave us will live on in us forever, inspiring and uplifting us. May his memory be a blessing and may we carry forth his legacy of love and family togetherness. We are comforted in knowing that after 4 months of not being able to walk that he ran through the gates of Heaven and is rejoicing being with Jesus and his family there again.
A Celebration of Lynn’s Life will be held Saturday, November 1st at 2 p.m. at
Harding Street Church of Christ Church Annex
