Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Whitty, 71, of Edgewater died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 with his loving wife by his side.  Mr. Whitty was born December 10, 1937 in Bronx, NY to Eleanor Weddell and James Whitty.  He worked for many years for Grumann Aerospace as a Tool & Die Maker.  Kenneth married the love of his life, Karin on June 28, 1986.  They moved to Edgewater in 2002 from Long Island and together they enjoyed long walks on the beach. In Kenneth spare time he enjoyed making Coo-Coo clocks, and carving Tiki's.  He also took time to have a nice day out on the boat and a quiet bike ride.  Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Karin of 23 years; son, Richard Whitty and his children; daughter, Eleanor Whitty Kanzler; step-daughter, Tammy Baldwin; step-son, Roger Baldwin and brother, Donald Whitty.     Our dear friend Ken will be missed by all who knew him. He had a special way about him. Ken could always make you laugh. He was fun to be with. We are so sorry, Karen, that you and Ken went through such a terrible ordeal the past months. We are grateful that you had Tammy by your side at the end, and that Ken did come home to Edgewater.

    We are so deeply saddened to hear of Ken's passing. Since leaving Long Island we have thought of both Ken and Karin often. We missed meeting in the hallway. Karin stay strong he suffers no more.

    Ken's warm smile and kind heart touched our lives forevery in so many ways. The true love he shared with my mom was like no other and will be forever engraved in her heart. The rays of each sunrise and sunset is a reminder of the warmth of his smile of each golden while of his life.
