My father was a caring and incredibly supportive man.
He also had a very dry sense of humor and could land a joke without skipping a beat.
My love of many things in life were a direct influence of his passion for science fiction, basketball, and spending hours watching Carl Sagan's Cosmos. While he attempted to teach me his beloved sport of tennis, I preferred basketball and he readily stepped up to coach a scrappy group of 13-year-old girls.
My father was a wonderful sounding board from my career to whatever I was learning about my own child as he grew up.
He wore his pride for me and my little family on his sleeve. He regularly told my husband how proud he was of the job we were doing with our son. I never once felt that he questioned anything I did, or any choice I made. He asked great questions and always circled back to bring up specific topics weeks or months later just to make sure everything was still going well.
I'm thrilled that in retirement, my father found a wonderful woman to share his life. He was incredibly happy spending time with Marcia and that's the kind of comfort and joy that everyone should be able to have in their life.

This has been a sad time for Marcia & Ken.. I have been struggling with the right words to say as I am very good friends with Marcia & I felt her pain though all of this…The last 6 months have been tough for them but though it all they invited family to their house to celebrate the seasons. Ken’s family came Thanksgiving and Marcia’s Christmas…I know it had to be hard for Ken, who was starting to decline, but how hard it was for Marcia who made everything as perfect as she could knowing what was to come….She was by his side in their home until the end…what a dear loving couple they were….On Ken’s behalf when Marcia’s mother started to fail Ken was such a helpful husband in that time as well….they truly were meant to full in love in their later years of life….Rest in peace Ken and Marcia I love you

Ken and I were coffee, golf, tennis, lunch and occasional beer drinking buddies for over 20 years. We were best friends. If I needed a ride to pick my car up from the shop (or some other favor), Ken was always the first person I called. We enjoyed discussing the politics and events of the day...he was always well read and well informed. Ken was a "pretty" tennis player with classic strokes and a killer serve. On those rare occasions I bested him, I knew I'd accomplished something...and Ken was always gracious in victory or defeat. He was equally gracious in his fight against cancer...still getting on the court even as the disease diminished his skills. He was a true gentleman who lived a life of courage and integrity.
Miss you buddy...and I hope you're back to cracking aces in heaven!

Sad news... My BIG friend KEN has gone to heaven. He was one of the first to support me in mastering tennis, gave valuable advice and helped me develop my tennis skills free of charge! He introduced me to his fabulous wife Marcia. I was so happy with your happiness to be together, such a beautiful loving couple attracted me like a magnet! Ken courageously fought the disease, continued to play tennis despite the pain. I was proud of him. It hurts me that such a loving, kind, beautiful man left this world, but he remains in my heart forever. Sweet Marcia, and all your family, please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved Ken. May his soul rest in peace

My Dear friend Ken,
I met you and the guys at Starbucks about 17 years ago !!
Y’all were fun and too much fun - but Ken , you were the best !!!. You were smart and level headed - even in all the Intense Coffee house conversations ! I can even remember after long coffee sessions - joking how we must be “Solving World Peace “or something !
Thanks for joining me and the family at Church several times over the years and Easter Celebrating with us. Thanks for always being willing to play tennis with me and helping me to be a better player.
Everyone out at the Park knows who you are - even if they didn’t know you. The world is a better place because of you - you will be dearly missed my friend - until we are all reunited some day !

For My Husband
Every woman hopes to find the true love of her life. A handsome man to take her hand and choose her as his wife. I looked here and everywhere to find someone like you. Then one day, you were there and all my dreams came true. You've filled my life with joy and set my heart aglow. You are cherished and adored more than you could ever know. No happier wife on earth could ever be. With all my heart I thank you sweetheart for loving me.
