Kenneth Warren (Ken) Batts of Orlando, FL died May 8, 2018 at the Hospice Of The Comforter after a battle with lung cancer.  He was born July 16, 1941 in Ocilla, GA but grew up in Jacksonville, FL.  He was the son of Ramon Cecil Batts, Sr. and Chloe Oveda Greene.  He attended local schools and Carlisle Military Academy before joining the U.S. Army Paratroopers in 1958. After his discharge he moved to Orlando.  Ken worked as a salesman for a while, then owned a Karate School for ten years.  He was a 5th Degree Black Belt.  Later he started a new business, Batts Porcelain Service, from which he retired in 2007.  He was a 32nd Degree Mason and had a Gold Card(Masonic).  He was Worshipful Master of Orlando Masonic Lodge #69 in 1998 and District Instructor for the 17th District of Florida in 2001. He was also a Shriner and a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite. Ken loved his many pets over the years, especially one dog named “Tag” who was his companion for 16 years.  He liked working in his rose garden and sitting on his front porch when it was raining, he also loved swing dancing.  Ken is survived by his sister, Beverly Batts Schang, his brother, Ramon C. Batts, Jr., 17 nieces and nephews, and very special friends, Becky and Max Rowe, Scott Roberts, William Ward, and Michael Katauskas.  Ken wished to be cremated and only a private family service.
