Obituary

Kim Ann Kindt Neil, 61, passed away August 23, 2018 at home with Patricia J. Kindt her mother and Brian Neil her husband by her side.

Kim was born February 13, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio daughter of the late Noel O. Kindt and Patricia J. Gundeck Kindt. Kim was the eldest of three daughters Karen M. Kindt and Katherine L. Kindt Schimmel. Kim leaves behind to cherish her memory niece Olivia Kindt Carter, nephew Reid Kindt Carter as well as many aunts and uncles.

A graduate of Deerfield High School Deerfield, IL Kim earned her business degree with distinction from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA.

On November 11, 1989 Kim was united in marriage to Brian H. Neil at Holly Cross Church in Deerfield, IL. Kim enjoyed traveling to many of the Caribbean Islands even though neither knew how to swim! A fan of discovering new dining destination from special occasion spots to neighborhood favorites kept Kim and her husband busy on Friday and Saturday known as date night. A 35-year veteran in the insurance broking industry rising to senior vice president at Marsh McClennan’s Chicago office. Kim was a student of her profession and proud of her accomplishments managing Fortune 500 companies.

Kim and Brian lived in Wheaton, IL for 26 years before retiring to Florida in August 2016. Kim’s love of animals quickly consumed her time by adopting Penny a terrier mix rescue puppy. Kim was a long-time supporter of various cat and dog rescue leagues. A passionate reader Kim cherished plowing through two to three books at a time and loved The Wall Street Journal and New York Times. Kim always found time for shopping whether hitting the retail stores or on-line sites……and in some cases it was important to have back up of back up ready in her closet!

A special thank you to Ann Neil Proctor and Dave Proctor Kim’s sister and brother in law for the years of hospitality enjoyed when visiting their home. Kim found great comfort traveling with her mother through Europe and continued to cherish her friendship when Pat moved to Florida.

Above all Kim was loyal, gracious and a wonderful lady, wife, daughter, aunt and Brian’s best friend who always tried to do the right thing in her professional as well as personal life.

Although, my acquaintance with Kim was recent, and way too short, I experienced her warm and caring character, which was enormously appreciated during a time of sorrow in my own life. As sad as I am to not have had the opportunity for our friendship to fully blossom, I am happy she is free. Blessings to her mother, and her best buddy and the love of her life Brian.
