Lanny Lee Villinis, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 78. Per Lanny's request, there will be no
visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded, and interment of ashes will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
The family gratefully requests any memorials in Lanny's name be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital or Shriner's
Hospitals for Children.
Lanny was born on February 10, 1947 in Davenport, Iowa, a son of Thomas and Patricia (Schneider) Villinis. He graduated from
Davenport Central High School in 1965. He proudly served as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany.
Lanny was employed as a service technician with Pitney Bowes, Inc. for 34 years, retiring in 2003.
Lanny was an avid fisherman and especially loved fishing for channel catfish in the Mississippi River. He competed in many catfish
tournaments over the years. He also enjoyed watching and rooting for his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes.
He married Donna Gayle Anderson on May 10, 1985 in Peoria, Illinois.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Donna; son John; two grandchildren, Mary Ann and Lexi, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Tom and John, sister Shirley, and daughter Jennifer.
He was a good husband and a good man, always helping out neighbors. He will be dearly missed and loved always.
