Obituary
Larry Lee Jones, 77, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away on November 19, 2024. Larry was born on October 8, 1947, in St. Paul, MN to parents Donald and Betty (Klemz) Jones. He graduated from Anoka High School in 1965 and received an Associate’s degree from Anoka Ramsey Community College in 1970. He went on to work with the Star Tribune Newspaper in Minnesota for 30+ years.
Larry enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to play guitar and made beautiful pottery. He also loved to water ski, enjoyed vintage cars and loved to go camping. Larry was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, but his biggest accomplishment was his two beautiful daughters. He was so proud of them!
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kathleen Jones of North Fort Myers, FL; Daughters, Sandy (Mark) Giesler of Rogers, MN, and Leigh Jones of Layton, UT; Brother, Steve Jones of St. Paul, MN; his furry grandbabies (cats & dogs), as well as many other loving friends and family members, including his cat, Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents and many other loved ones.
A celebration of life will be held in Minnesota at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the nursing home, Gulf Coast Village, who took exceptional care of him for his last five years.
