Lawrence H. Alpaugh passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 26th 2025 at St. Francis Hospice Reflections Care Center in Titusville FL. He was born in Fairmount New Jersey on Jan 8th 1951 to Albert and Elizabeth Alpaugh. Larry, as he was known to all, grew up in Fairmount and graduated from West Morris High School. Larry’s first real job was a Police Dispatcher for Washington Township. He attended the New Jersey State Police Academy, and soon after graduation, he became a Chester Borough Police Officer. He was also a volunteer Firefighter for the Fairmount Fire Company. Larry would then go onto several more career changes as a Rockledge FL Police Officer, several security Jobs, a 911 dispatcher, an EMT, working security and SWAT Teams at the Kennedy Space Center during the Space Shuttle era, and a specialized Security Contractor for the US Government in Kabul Afghanistan, where he helped protect the US Embassy there. He also worked in Insurance, was a rep. for Taylor Ice Cream equipment, and tried his hand at several small businesses along the way. During his lifetime, Larry was most proud of his police work, his time at the Kennedy Space Center, and protecting the US Embassy in Kabul. He was also an avid car guy as well, owning several sportscars, jeeps, trucks, and a collection of Corvettes over the years. The Corvettes were his favorites and would talk about them often. He also love to fish from the family boat, go to the beach, and also motorcycle riding, which he had several of those as well. He enjoyed watching the Yankees play, and keeping up with all the space news and all the frequent launches that were occurring in Florida. His last year was spent at Royal Oaks Nursing & Rehab, where all the staff came to know him. Larry is survived by his sister Judy, and brother Jim. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to St Francis Reflections Lifestage Care in Titusville Florida.
