Obituary
Lawrence D. Steele, 94, passed away peacefully under the care of Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages with loving family by his side on March 5, 2022.
He was born to David and Hallie Steele on June 27, 1927, in Washington. He was a resident of Fairbanks, Alaska for 33 years until him and his wife moved to Oregon. Lawrence and Lorene traveled together for many years across the United States before settling in The Villages.
Lawrence is survived by his daughter Cheryl Moore; son, Mark Steele; sister, Dona Mae Barnes; 4 grandkids; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife Lorene and his son Jeff Steele.
Services will be private.
and eventually lived only about 3 blocks from each other in the Aurora Subdivision. He and Lorene were on Evergreen St. and we were on Central. I stayed with Larry and Lorene in a small basement room for several months. Once we took a trip up
near the Arctic Circle to fish. What a great trip. A place called Miller House was our launch point to head to the creeks.
And how Larry loved to sing, especially good old hymns. Love you, Larry
