Obituary
On December 19, 2018, Lee Eisen Roberts, passed away due to complications following gallbladder surgery, surrounded by family. He was 77.
Lee was born September 20, 1941 in Detroit, MI to Stuart and Margaret (Braidwood) Roberts. After his father died, Lee was raised by his mother and step-father Robert Eisen in Birmingham, MI. Lee served as President and owner of The Eisen Group for 37 years, an independent manufacturing representative agency, known for its relationships with its customers, quality products, and a supportive, family-like atmosphere for its employees. Lee was also proud to work at Russell Hardware for many years.
In 1995, Lee married Janice Marie Monahan, and the two settled in Beverly Hills, MI. Lee and Jan worked hard to blend their families, and together had six children: Kelly, Jennifer, Jill, Hannah, Alexander, and Blake. Lee was an avid sportsman and was often found playing golf at the Birmingham Country Club, pheasant hunting with his dog, or riding dirt bikes with his children. Together, Lee and Jan loved touring the Great Lakes on their boat, enjoying a motorcycle ride, family gatherings at Black Lake, or walking the family dog Duke. Lee retired in 2010, and he and Jan spent many years in Fort Myers, FL, where they eventually moved full-time in 2017. Throughout his life, Lee was a sought-after counsel for sage advice; an active, caring father and grandfather; a gracious host for friends and clients; and always ready to pour a “Jack on the rocks” at happy hour.
Lee is survived by his wife Jan; children Kelly (Lacy) Wilkinson, Jennifer (Jonathan) Kelly, Jill Monahan, Hannah (Jason) Lozon, Alexander Roberts and Blake Roberts; his sisters Lynne (Michael) Strelow, Robin Blackwell, and Randi (Gary) Cowan; brother Bobby (Lori) Eisen; grandchildren MacKenzie, Rylie, and Rhys Wilkinson; and Gregory, Adeline Bo, and Anna Kelly. He is also survived by dog Buddy, and the two were known for their daily walks/scooter rides around the neighborhood.
A memorial service will be held January 12, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 1589 W Maple Rd, Birmingham, MI 48009. Visitation is from 10am-12pm, with a service to follow. Arrangements are being handle by Baldwin Brother @ www.baldwincremation.com
During his stay at Gulf Coast Medical Center, Lee needed many units of blood. In order to remember Lee and support others in need, the family asks that you donate blood with the American Red Cross. If you find needles too painful, please consider making a memorial donation to the charity of your choice.
We just were informed Lee passed away. Rob and I are so sorry for you and your family. We enjoyed your company when visited you and Lee invited us to spend the night at your condo. We saw the business side of Lee and the sweet side as he talked about his grandchildren. He was a kind man and will be missed.
