Dr. Albrigo was inducted into the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame in 2018, (https://floridacitrushalloffame.com/inductees/dr-l-gene-albrigo/). Dear Clydene and family,
Mary Lou and I were so sorry to learn of the death of Gene. We knew that his health was not too good, but were shocked to hear of his sudden passing.
We have had a long friendship with you guys going back to when you first came to Lake Alfred immediately after Gene obtained his PhD. I remember Gene coming by the house after you had moved into your house on Hampden Rd in 1968 to see if I was interested in car pooling, since we lived near to each other. We car pooled for some time until we each obtained a second car. Then again, during the fuel shortage, we car pooled along with Bob Carter (ABC car pool), and that continued for 20 years! That has to say something about our compatibility.
I worked with Gene on several projects during those first few years. Gene was a take control guy with a lot of ideas that produced useful information for the citrus industry. Gene will be greatly missed by us and those he served in the industry.
We know you will miss Gene dearly, our thoughts and prayers are with you, Ruaun, and Tom during these coming days as you adjust to this great loss. Keep in touch and sorry we are not traveling too far from home these days.
    Love, Eldon and Mary Lou

    Clydene & family,
Accept my condolences in the passing of Gene.
My main memories of Gene were that we worked together as members of the Winter Haven Civitan Club in the 1970s. Gene was always a willing & serious worker, & I enjoyed working with him on projects.
