BRIDGES Leonard Franklin, Jr., age 85, of Deltona, FL. passed away on March 2, 2017 in Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, FL. He was born on March 31, 1931 in Spencer, Ohio where he grew up and attended school in Polk County in Ohio and later served 2 years in the US Army. On July 4, 1953 he married Florence Bohl and from this union a son, David Allen and a daughter, Rachel Lucille were born. During Leonard’s career days he worked as a masonry contractor and on a dairy farm while living in Plant City, FL. In 1990 he and Florence moved to Deland and lived on a houseboat on the St. John’s River. They later moved to Deltona in 2010. Leonard was a man of faith and was a faithful church attendee and Bible reader. While living in Plant City he served as an usher at the First United Methodist Church and later attended Faith Baptist Church in Deltona. In his spare time he loved to go fishing, watch college sports on television and was a meticulous note taker. Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Franklin, Sr and Winifred Bridges. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Florence; his son, David Allen; and his daughter, Rachel Lucille Bridges. A Memorial Service for Leonard will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11 AM at the Faith Baptist Church, 1200 Providence Blvd, in Deltona, FL. 32725.
