Obituary
Leslie “Les” George Thier, age 77 and a resident of Ocala, Florida, passed away February 12, 2021. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 15, 1943 to Edward C. and Genevieve C. (nee Muchewicz) Thier.
A U.S. Army veteran, Les was a Bay Village, Ohio firefighter for 25 years. He was a graduate of St. Ignatious High School and earned associate degrees from Cleveland State University and Lorain County Community College. In addition to being a firefighter, he was employed as a registered nurse and worked for several hospitals and organizations in the Cleveland, Ohio and Ocala, Florida areas.
Les was a Corvette enthusiast, audiophile, voracious reader, and Limberger cheese aficionado. He also enjoyed motorcycles in his younger days. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala.
Les was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved pets Chelsea, Quincy, Sam, and Bogie.
Surviving are his former wife, Carla Thier, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina; stepdaughter, Michelle (nee Latevola) White (Lou) of Elyria, Ohio; stepson, William P. Latevola (Lori) of Waxhaw, North Carolina; and grandchildren Gabriel White and Hailey Latevola.
Remembrance donations may be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala.
