Obituary

Life Celebration for Lillian Nobrega of Hacienda del Rio in Edgewater will be at 4:30 PM Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1910 Pioneer Trail, in New Smyrna Beach. Lillian was born in Tacoma, Washington and returned here from Anchorage, Alaska in 1993.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and Grandmother.  Always a concerned friend to all those who knew and loved her, she left a lasting impression in everyone’s heart.   From working as a Registered Nurse and Social Worker in Public Health for the State of Florida for over 20 years, to decades of leadership in the Pathfinder youth activities at her church, service to others always came naturally.  Her unconditional love for others brings comments of “your mother stood 10’ tall to our family”.  For the past 17 years, until no longer able, Lillian and her late husband, Ralph, loved heading up the Sunshine Club at Hacienda Del Rio.   Before online ordering and store delivery, she and Ralph would personally go, select, purchase, and deliver flowers or appropriate “thinking of you” items to those grieving or in need of encouragement.  The light of her life in the last few years has been the visits, calls, and photos of her four Great Grandchildren – the newest, of which, brought her a hearty laugh this month with photos following her 90th Birthday party. She leaves, to cherish her memory, her Daughter , Marilyn Yeager of New Smyrna Beach, Son and Daughter-in-law, Ralph and Shirley Nobrega of Anchorage, AK, Grandchildren – Shawn, Michelle, Stephanie, Heather, and Bill along with four Great grandchildren - Harrison, Hunter, McKenzie, and Charli Rose. In appreciation for the care provided by Hospice of Volusia, in lieu of flowers, the family would be honored with donations in her honor made to the name of “Southeast Care Center”, Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 4140 South Ridgewood Avenue, Edgewater, FL 32141

Send flowers to the family to show you care. Order Now

Miss Lillian IS a true jewel. I have only had the pleasure of knowing her a short time, maybe six years. When ever spending time with her it was a joy. She was very transparent like I am sure sister White was. I often thought she reminded me of her. This BEAUTIFUL LADY will be sorely missed. She is only sleeping for a short time, for our GOD is certainly coming soon!!!!!!

I cannot imagine how hard it is to loose your mother. Expected or not. I know how hard it is to loose my dad. What I know for sure is that I will see him again, and I will see Lillian again. She is only taking a short nap. She'll wake up soon!! She loved Jesus so much, and He's going to come and take her to her real home in heaven. My prayers are with you always.

What a joy to know Lillian. She was an inspiration, a true friend, a wonderful wife and mother, and a friend of God. We will miss her but know we will see her in the resurrection. She lived a life devoted to her family, her God, and to serving others. There is a crown awaiting her when her Lord and Saviour comes.

When Dan and I were first married, Lillian and Ralph Senior drove us all over the city of Anchorage in search of our first home. The exciting outcome was them seeing us through to a purchase. Not only through their work but also through our church did we see the Christian beauty and love of Lillian and Ralph lighting up many moments. We will always have a special memory and place in our hearts for both of them. Sending our love and prayers to the family as you face this sad time.
