Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that Bob Barnes announces the passing of his wife, partner and best friend Linda Babcock Barnes of South Daytona, Fl. Linda passed away quietly with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her parents Warren and Eula Jean Babcock, her daughter Heather Barnes, and her brother and sister-in-law Kim and Kathy Babcock.
Linda was born in Daytona Beach, Florida August 4, 1948. In her early years Linda enjoyed growing up with her brothers Larry Babcock (Julie), Kevin Babcock (Tracy), and Kerry Babcock (Victoria). She also lived near and grew up near many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Linda met the love of her life while attending Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, class of 1966. She then attended, what was then Daytona Beach Junior College (now Daytona Stat College) to become a phlebotomist and worked at Halifax Hospital. Linda and Bob got married August 1967. After starting their family, Bob’s job moved them to Texas and the Tennessee. Linda and Bob returned to Florida in 1977 settling down in South Daytona.
Linda was a very dedicated mother, leading her daughters in girl scouts for many years and many camping trips, carpooling to dance classes and recitals, and other after school activities and competitions – guitar lessons, gymnastics, baseball, flag football, weightlifting and karate. Linda and Bob were band and color guard parents, alternating between Spruce Creek and Atlantic High Schools for 29 years. After going back to school for Exceptional Student Education at the University of Central Florida, Linda was a teacher at South Daytona Elementary for 23 years.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Bob Barnes, daughters Kris Williams (Gregg) and Robyn Ivey (TJ). She is also survived by six grandchildren, Elijah (Kelsie), Raven, Jathan, Kyleigh, Hannah and BrookLynn, many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

There will be a celebration of life memorial Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Crossroads Church, 1851 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. 32119
