Obituary

Linda L. Cannon, 75, of Port Orange, FL passed away peacefully under the care of Halifax Hospice on Saturday, August 26, 2017.  Linda was born in Glen Gardner, Hunterdon County, New Jersey on March 2, 1942 to the late Gerald and Marjorie Stires.  Her life began living on a small farm in rural New Jersey, and from there moved to the Clinton, NJ area where she spent all of her childhood years.  She attended High School at Mount St. John’s Academy, where she met many lifelong friends, including her very best friend in life, Mary Wallace. After High School, Linda attended and later graduated from beautician school.  Linda married at an early age, and had three children before she was 23 years old.  After a short marriage, she moved with her children to the Daytona Beach, FL area where she stayed for the remainder of her life.  Linda was a loving person to all who knew her, she was always there as a friend and neighbor, and offered help and assistance to anyone that was in need.  Her greatest love in life was her children and their extended family, and would do anything to make sure they had everything that they needed.  All who knew and loved her will greatly miss her humor, encouragement, and love.  She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her son Edward Darago.  She is survived by her sons Steve Darago and his wife Kris of Port Orange, Jim Darago and his wife Diana Hyatt-Hilton of Port St. Lucie, William Cannon of Port Orange, and their extended family including 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.  We will celebrate Linda’s life on Saturday September 2, 2017, 11AM at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 620 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange.
