Obituary

Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Mom, wife, Grammy & cherished friend, Linda Louise Crego, at the age of 88.

She went home to be with the Lord at 4:44 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, with her family by her side. Born in East Cleveland, Ohio, on
August 5, 1937, to Walter William and Louise Charlotte Weist. She was a graduate of Euclid High School and attended Virginia Intermont College.

She was a woman of incredible resilience and unwavering faith. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep passion for gardening
and travel. She had a special gift for connecting with children. In high school, Linda sang in school choir competitions. She also played
basketball and the piano. She was an active member at her church and sang in the church choir. She was active in Girl Scouts for 20 years,
serving both as a Scout and as a Troop Leader. She was a member of both Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star. In the early years of her marriage,
she enjoyed square dancing, while her husband called, and she designed and made all her dresses. She also enjoyed designing and making her
own clothes and clothes for the girls and made ice skating show costumes.

She lived in Euclid, Ohio until the family relocated to West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1976, and then retired to The Villages, Florida in 1999,
with Jim. She worked for her parents’ printing business. She was a homemaker and began her special education teaching career in 1976, after raising
her daughters. She taught at 3 middle schools for 23 years until she retired.

Her greatest joy was her family and her faith, and she created countless memories with both family and friends through her many world travels.
During her retirement she enjoyed golfing and achieved two hole-in ones. She also enjoyed painting, crafts, floral arranging and cake decorating.

She was a devoted wife to her husband, James Walter, for 67 years. She was a proud Mom to Brenda Louise (Stash Hershberger) and Cyndy Lou
(Tommy Lee Light). She is survived by her grandchildren, Bradley Burr (Jenna) and Rebecca Lauzon, and 3 step grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren, and 7 great step-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Village of Faith Baptist Church, 8653 County Road 127, Wildwood, Florida 34785, on Saturday, November 22,
2025. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at10:00 a.m. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Following the service, all are invited to join the family for a luncheon and time of fellowship, at Colony Cottage Recreation Center, 510 Colony
Boulevard, The Villages, Florida 32162.

The family will have a private interment at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Ocala, Florida. Flowers may be delivered to Village of Faith Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m.
on the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Village of Faith Baptist Church. The service will be recorded and available later in the day, on November
22, 2025, on YouTube@vofpeople
