Obituary
Linda Sue Stagina, 74, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away suddenly on March 6, 2023. Linda was born to Arthur and Gladys Honaker in Beckley, West Virginia. Linda lived most of her life in beloved New Smyrna Beach and loved this town. She was one of the first recorded female surfers in the area and she said the beach was always a compass home to her. Linda’s ashes will be returned to the white sands and rolling waves that she loved so much.
Linda was a voracious reader who most enjoyed mystery, action thrillers where the underdog was helped by a morally, strong hero who maybe didn’t always follow the law. She had a snappy sense of humor, a fast wit, and loved good conversation over current topics. An adventurer at heart, she loved to try new things, one of her favorites being scuba diving. She was well known in the community and treated her friends like family. She loved nothing more than an impromptu visit from one, or several of them. Linda was a paralegal for more than 40 years before retiring, and was well known for being generous with her time and helping people navigate legal matters.
Linda is survived and greatly missed by her husband, Bruce, and her two sons Tommy and Bill (Meg), her dog Tater, and her two grand-dogs, Luke and Leia.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 28th at 10:30 a.m. at the Brannon Center located at 105 S. Riverside Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL, 32168. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. Please be ready to share a story or two to celebrate this wonderful, loving woman’s life as this is truly what she would want, a party instead of sadness!
Lunch to follow at Half Wall Restaurant & Brewery (old Pub 44) located at 1889 FL- 44, New Smyrna Beach, FL, 32168. Room will be held for guests.
