Obituary

Linda Lee Tucker, 88, of North Port, FL formerly of Elgin, Illinois, passed away on May 12, 2021 after an extended illness.

Linda was born in Jacksonville, Illinois on December 27, 1932 to Verneil (Perkins) and Earl William Tewell.

Linda loved the Lord, her family and friends, she filled her home with warmth and kindness. She enjoyed family get togethers, when she could cook her favorites for all to enjoy, chili, deviled eggs, cookie cake and of course her Christmas marshmallow fudge. She collected skunks, mostly ceramic ones and couldn’t pass one up when she saw one, wherever she traveled. Many a card game was relished by Linda, especially canasta. She was a very artistic person, with a great eye for detail, she loved to crochet, paint and of course her ceramics. She even owned and operated her own ceramic shop in Springfield, South Dakota where she created many one of a kind pieces for her family and friends. She loved to sing, and could even remember all the old nursery rhymes. Westerns with cowboys were her favorite shows to watch. There wasn’t a cowboy she didn’t love-and she knew them all. Long car rides were cherished, she loved the scenery and was so happy for day trips to the ocean to partake in picnic lunches. We will miss her greatly.

Linda was predeceased by her parents; husband, Alfred Tucker; former husbands Russell Hart and Carl Scaggs; sisters, Evelyn Prather, Patricia Mitchell and Ramona O’Brian; daughter Sueanna (Scaggs) Romans; daughter Pamela (Tucker) Perez; and granddaughter, Billie Jo Lenart.

She is survived by her children: RuthAnn (Steve)VanBuskirk of Geneva, Illinois; David (Karlene) Hart of North Port, Florida; Robert (Debra) Hart of Venice, Florida; Robert (Debbie) Tucker of Batavia, Illinois; Melia (the late Ron) Cardelli of Moline, Illinois, and Kelly Tucker; 29 grandchildren and 40 Great-Grandchildren The family requests no flowers.

There will be a funeral service at 1pm on May 13, 2022 at Windridge Memorial Park Chapel, 7014 South Rawson Bridge Road, Cary, Illinois 60013
