Obituary
Lloyd (Gene) Eugene Steinbrook Sr., 78, from Leesburg, FL, passed away June 6, 2017. Gene was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Henry Lloyd and Deloris Maxine Steinbrook on June 16, 1938. He was founder and member of LARKS (Lake Aircraft Radio Kontrol Squadon) established in the early 1970s which was a lifelong hobby that he passionately enjoyed. During his tenure he was president and a well sought-after instructor to many.
Gene was an entrepreneur where he started his career by being owner/operator of the Thrift Shoe Repair in Indiana. In 1971, he moved to Florida, where he opened Money Realty in Eustis FL shortly thereafter as well as AAA Hobbies.
Gene is survived by his children Deborah (Dan) Steinbrook Boggus, Darlene Steinbrook Shipley, Butch (Rhonda) Steinbrook Jr. and his sister Verajean Arthur. He was also a proud grandfather to nine loving grandchildren.
You’re welcome to gather with family and friends on Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 2-4 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Tavares at the UMAC building at 600 W. Ianthe St, Tavares, FL 32778.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gene’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
