Lloyd Garvey age 84 died of respiratory failure on July 21, 2020 in Ocala Regional Hospital Ocala, FL. Lloyd Garvey is survived by his wife Angela Garvey of St. Lucia, West Indies; his sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and daughter.
Lloyd Garvey was born on September 11, 1935 in St. Ann’s Bay Jamaica, to parents Hector Garvey and Ethel Stewart. He graduated from St. Ann’s Bay School with an Associate degree. In 1981, he moved to Brooklyn, NY and accepted a position as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Flushing Manor Care Center in Queens, NY, where he worked for more than 10 years.
Lloyd Garvey was a great family man and a loving father. He married Angela Garvey in Ocala, FL and was married for over 10 years, they were happily married until his death. Lloyd was a social active man who was deeply involved in Soccer, The Moose Lodge, and Church for the majority of his life. He enjoyed partying, dancing, cruising, traveling, wrestling and cooking. His family and friends will always remember him as a hard worker, friendly and outgoing person.
A funeral service is scheduled for August 22, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Candler, FL at 11am Viewing and 12pm Mass, with a reception to follow at the church parish hall. Father Seno will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lloyd Garvey’s life. The family would like to thank everyone for the kind words, text, phone calls, emails and cards.
