Lloyd Allen Tarter, 75, passed away on October 17, 2023 in The Villages, Florida. He will be dearly missed. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Teresa of The Villages (maiden name: O’Shea, from Bowling Green, KY); son, Randall (Phyllis) Tarter of Mooresville, IN; 2 Granddaughters, Emma Tarter of Plainfield, IN and Naomi Miller of Mooresville, IN; Grandson, Zedekiah (Zed) Miller of Mooresville, IN; Sisters, Linda Ray of Brownsville, KY and Nancy (Mike) Norrie of Tucson, AZ and a Sister-In-Law, Mira Tarter of Waterville, MN.  Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Roe and Emma Tarter and his Brother, Thomas “Tommy” Tarter of Waterville, MN.

Lloyd was born on August 4, 1948 in Mesa, AZ. He was the youngest of 4 and always known as the prankster. He moved to Kentucky as a young child and completed his grade school in Edmonson County, Kentucky and college education in Bowling Green, KY. His working career would be spent in Bowling Green until his retirement in 2007. In his early career, he was a firefighter and later spent most of his working years as a Quality Engineer for Corvette/General Motors. He also was known best as an entrepreneur, starting multiple small businesses over the years. As a young man, he also proudly and honorably served in the military (Navy) where he received the National Defense Service Medal. Some of Lloyd’s hobbies later in life included enjoying good food, traveling, cars and car shows, technology and gadgets, and keeping up the prankster reputation.  While in The Villages during retirement, he worked part-time with The Villages Community Watch and with the Atomic Golf Cart Company, along with participating in several clubs that included The Kentucky Club, The Villages Pine Hills Club, and The Atomic Golf Cart Club.

A Celebration of Life for Lloyd will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, 3990 E. SR 44, Ste. 105, Wildwood, FL 34785. Light refreshments will be served and enjoyed as we share fun-loving memories together.

I knew and worked with Lloyd for many years at the General Motors Corvette Plant. As it stated, when he was a young boy, he was a prankster. That carried over into his adult life as well. Lloyd was always in a good mood and would help anyone in need. Always looking for business opportunities to keep him busy. May he have eternal peace.

Teresa Kathy Quiggins and I were shocked to find out about Lloyd. You and Lloyd were very good to Kathy when we lost Dad. Sending Prayers and love to you and your family.

Uncle Lloyd, it was wonderful getting to meet you and know you over the last few years. You are with your brother and now can do double time with the pranks.
