Obituary

Lois Ann Palajsa-Morrone 1952-2023
Our beloved Lois Ann Palajsa-Morrone passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023, following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Etna, Pennsylvania in February 1952 to parents Frank and Millie, Lois attended All Saints Elementary School and was a 1970 graduate of Etna High School. She didn’t move far from home for her life’s work as a special education teacher at Shaler Area School District. Her nurturing spirit created a learning environment that not only enriched her students while in her care, but throughout their lives. She was a remarkable teacher.
Lois married Vic Morrone in August 2009. They lived in Mars, Pennsylvania for most of their working lives then moved to Stone Creek in Ocala, Florida in 2011, where they have been embraced by a close and caring community. Golfing, hiking and bocce kept Lois and Vic active at home.
Visiting Disney was one of Lois’s most favorite pastimes. Snorkeling was another. Learning new things was another. Photography was her passion, especially wildlife photography! The pelicans and eagles fishing on the lake behind her house were frequent subjects. Lois was so creative. She looked at the world through the lens of her camera and shared the vibrancy of life around her through her pictures.
Lois was a deeply caring person. There were few lives that were not touched by her helping hand, no matter how small the need. She was a happy, outgoing, positive person with ready smiles. She helped others see the good things around them. She loved to give gifts to others, the most powerful being the gift of her time.
Lois is survived by Vic, her husband, who she loved completely and unfailingly, Annie the Shih Tzu puppy, her inseparable companion, sisters Judy Nicklas and Kathy Bubash and their families, her very special great niece Corri Lean, and very very special great great niece baby Evelyn.
Sometimes God sends an Angel among us for the briefest of times. Lois was one of these. Please join us to celebrate her special life on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 2PM at the Pavillion of Stone Creek Reunion Center

I was blessed to be the first to welcome you and Vic to your Florida home and to share your friendship all the years since. You always had a smile and a kind thing to say. You will be missed by many. Will always remember photography club and many other times shared over the years. I will miss you but you will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️
