Obituary

Lorraine Dorothy Goldwater (Eberhardt), 87, of Kissimmee, Florida passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 to her forever home in Heaven. She was born to the late Johan (John) and Anna Eberhardt (Klepitsch) in Chicago, Illinois on January 17, 1928. Lorraine graduated in 1944 from St. Philomenas Commercial High School where she made many lifelong friendships. On May 22, 1948 she and Ellis M. Knight were married, eventually buying their first home and moving to River Grove, Illinois. After 12 years of marriage, they decided it was time for a family so in April of 1960 they adopted their little girl Linda Ann, whom they devoted their lives to raising together until Ellis became ill and passed away. He was born March 4, 1924 and was taken from our lives too soon on January 12, 1969. Lorraine remarried the late Marvin P. Goldwater July 1, 1970. He was better known as Skip or some called him Goldie. Lorraine, Skip and Linda moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1976. They opened a Gift Shop called Goldie's Sales which did so well that they opened another one. Lorraine ran one and Skip the other, both shops were in Kissimmee one on East Hwy. 192 & the other on West 192. Mom was always homesick for Chicago and missed her family and friends, that's where her roots where and her heart would always be. In her earlier years in Chicago, she worked for Stockholm Cleaners were she worked hard and became a manager for them, she left that position in 1970. She was a School Crossing Guard for the Village of River Grove for several years before moving and later in life she worked at Oaks Laundromat in St. Cloud, Florida until retiring due to health reasons. She made many friends and loyal customers while working there. She leaves behind her Daughter, Linda Haston (Knight) and "Son-In-Law", Anthony Capaldi of Kissimmee, Florida. Nephew's, Steve Jr., Rob (Pat) and John (Sue) Halvax all from Illinois. Cousins, Elvira Haase (Klepitsch), Margaret Klepitsch, Rudolph Klepitsch and Eleanor. Her family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the kindness shown and loving care provided by the staff of Vitas Hospice Care, Winter Garden, Florida.
