Lorraine D. Smith was born in Stanton, Nebraska in 1926 and passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014. The Memorial Mass will be held Saturday morning December 6th, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, New Smyrna Beach. Lorraine is survived by her beloved spouse Lee Smith and her children: Colonel Evan Williams US Army (Ret) of St. Augustine, FL, Phillip Williams of Daytona Beach, FL, Brian Williams of Susanville, CA, Dr. Mark Williams of Lexington, KY, and Deborah Williams of Palm Beach, FL. Stepdaughters, Gail Floyd of Edgewater, FL and Christine Stuckey of St. Petersburg, FL. She served her country as a first lieutenant in the Air Force Nursing Corps. After moving with her family to New Smyrna Beach in 1966, Lorraine worked as a nurse at Halifax Hospital Operating Room and raised her five children. Lorraine and her first husband, Smokey, operated several service stations in the Daytona Beach area. In her later years she enjoyed traveling with her second husband, Lee, and spending time with her ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Many happy memories were made sitting around the pool enjoying the sunshine and eating Lorraine’s perfect beef roasts. She will be very much missed by all. The family would like to give special thanks to Angel Oaks ALF and Jessica LaMadeleine for their loving care.
