Louis V. Pollacci, 82, of Edgewater, Florida, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010. Born December 4, 1927 in Charleroi, he was the son of the late Louis and Vivian Mesher-Pollacci. Lou was a graduate of Charleroi High School (1947) and Wake Forest University (1952), where he attended on a football scholarship and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a standout three-sport athlete at CHS, a former WPIAL football and basketball official, and was inducted into the Charleroi High School Football Hall of Fame in 2004. A longtime resident of New Eagle, he retired from General Motors in 1986, after spending 35 years as an accountant at the Fisher Body plant in Dravosburg. He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn, five children: Louis, James, David, Lori and Leslie, and three grandchildren: Sallie Ann, Seth and Caleb. Private funeral arrangements were held by the family.
