Obituary

Louise M. Fraker Robbins, 97, Lexington Place, New Smyrna Beach, Florida and formerly of Gloversville, New York, died peacefully December 10, 2022, with family by her side.  Born February 26,1925 in Keck Center, New York, she was the daughter of Hallock (Hallie) and Lena Hart Fraker.

She married the love of her life, Howard Robbins on July 25, 1942, enjoying sixty-nine years of wedded bliss, he died April 15, 2012.

During WW II, while her husband Howard served our country in Italy, Louise worked at Papa’s Gloves in Gloversville, where they made gloves for the military. Later, she was employed with Swears Glove Shop, Johnstown; did housework for the Hoye family, Gloversville; was a Teacher Aide at Park Terrace Elementary School, Gloversville and finally retired from Lexington Center, with over 40 years of service.  At the time of her retirement in 2019, she was 94 years young, the oldest actively working employee.

An avid reader, baker, gardener, bowler and traveler, she loved cruising with family and trips to Maine and Florida. She moved to Florida in February of 2022 living near her son and grandson.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Howard, her parents Hallie and Lena Hart Fraker; her three brothers Ralph, Nelson and George Fraker; two sisters Isabel (Gus) Wolfgram and Bessie (Everett) Richter and former son-in-law, David Bruse.

She is survived by her son Alan (Terrie)Robbins, Edgewater, FL.; daughter JoAnne Robbins, and Louise’s dear friend Pat DeRose, Gloversville, New York. She is also survived by former d-i-l, Candy (Dennis) Opalka, Amsterdam, New York and grandchildren Davey (LeAna) Bruse, Edgewater, FL.; Jennifer (Jim) Steele, Broadalbin, New York; Alex (Lauren) Robbins, Tribes Hill, New York; Great Grand Children: Miranda Bruse, Port Orange, FL.; BreAna Richards, Edgewater, FL; Austin, Blake, and Caden Steele, Broadalbin, New York and Alana and Liam Robbins, Amsterdam, New York. Gt. Gt. Grand children, Fraya and Gunnar Richards, and Cole Dishone, Edgewater, Fl., many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Fighting Blindness.org.

Private memorial services will be held in Edgewater Fl, and Gloversville, NY. at a later date.
