Obituary

Lucretia Angela Veit “Dede”  passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024 at Addington Place in Titusville Florida. She was 86.

Born on January 27, 1938 and raised by her parents Emil & Elizabeth Olivet Bronx New York. She is proceeded in death by her sister’s Emilia Keane, Elizabeth Palumbo and her loving husband Stanley Veit.  She has one living brother Joseph Olivet who resides in Croton on the Hudson New York.

Dede graduated from Hunter college with a master’s degree in education. She worked over 40 years with the New York City board of education. Where she taught special needs children and helped build the special needs program. Prior to moving to Titusville Florida Dede resided in Manhattan New York where she enjoyed Broadway shows and art. 

Dede will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews : Dr Elizabeth Ferguson (Michael) Hinckley Ohio, James Cornelison- RedwoodCity,California ,Paul Cornelison Orlando Florida ,Kim Vega (Philip) Titusville Florida and Patricia Palumbo Palm Coast Florida ,

8 great nieces and nephews :Mitchell, Ansonia and Elisa Vega, Anthony and Christopher Ferguson ,Michael Palumbo ,Isabella Sanchez Dede also had 14 great grand nieces and nephews.

 

On March 26, 2025 the family will be having a private ceremony aboard the Arabella catamaran in Ponce inlet Florida. 

Dede and Stanley Veit wishes is to have their ashes spread out at sea so they can be together again. 

 

Dede had a love for cat’s. She has a cat room in her name at the SPCA in Titusville,  they family is asking for all donations in her name to be made to the SPCA of Brevard county 6035 Sisson Rd Titusville Florida 32180
