Obituary

Lucy A. (Sherer/Bergstresser) McCann, 72, of Lady Lake, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Villages Regional Hospital in The Villages, Florida. She was the wife of John McCann for 19 years. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jean (Warmkessel) Sherer. Lucy was a 1968 graduate of Parkland High School. She was a life member of the Cetronia Fire Co. #1 and was a past president of the Cetronia Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a past member of Cedar Lutheran Church in Cetronia. She was a past member and Sunshine Girl of the Lehigh Valley HOG Club in Parryville, PA, Lake County HOG Club in Leesburg, FL and the past Ladies Auxiliary President and Membership Secretary of the American Legion Post 219 in Fruitland Park FL. She was employed by many companies in the Allentown area before moving to Florida. A few of those are Lehigh Valley Magazine, Draeger Medical in Telford and Sherer’s Market in Cetronia. Along with her loving husband Jack, Lucy is survived by her sister Ellen Sherer of Allentown, brother James Sherer and wife Gail of Bradenton, Florida, brother David and fiancé Marlene Hajducko of Allentown, nephew Nikolai Sherer of Allentown, niece Melissa Mesce and husband Jack of Allentown, Great-nephews Brandt, Ayden Robertson and Step-great-niece Ava Mesce of Allentown, Step-mother Linda Sherer of Allentown, Step-son John McCann and wife KT and Step-grandsons Evan and Liam McCann of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Aunt Donna and Uncle Tom Schwartz of Mt Lookout, West Virginia. She is also loved by her Warmkessel, Walbert, Schwartz and Moyer cousins. She was preceded by former husband Donald Bergstresser and brother-in-law Larry Wolfinger.
