Lynn Marjorie Bretsnyder, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, was the only daughter and fourth child of Jack and Marjorie Bretsnyder. Lynn’s life journey ended on October 6, 2021 with friends and family by her side. Lynn is survived by her three brothers, Glen, Tom and Bill Bretsnyder, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Many years a resident in Homestead and Coconut Grove, Lynn recently made New Smyrna Beach her home. Lynn was a friend to birds, a lover of the sea, a protector of turtles and dolphins and a champion for Mother Earth. She was a patron of the arts and esoteric studies. Lynn devoted much of her life to the healing of others, integrating energy medicine and alternative medicine into her personal practice.
Before settling in Florida, Lynn traveled the world, spending most of her time in Australia and the far east. During her travels, Lynn fell in love with orchids and became an avid orchid collector and grower, cultivating and raising many award-winning specimen orchids. She is well-known to fellow growers and experts in the South Florida community.
Lynn was a mentor, friend and guide to many, and she nurtured lifelong friendships throughout the world. Lynn’s earthly presence will be missed tremendously by her brothers, nieces and nephews, and the many friends she left behind. The family is planning a memorial service to be held in 2022.
