Obituary
Margaret (Margo) Jane Carine Donovan, 87, from Ormond by the Sea, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a battle with cancer.
Margo was born in Farrell, Pennsylvania on November 29, 1934, to James and Rose Arnao Carine.
Margo was a graduate of Farrell High School and received her nursing degree from Sharon General School of Nursing. She later obtained her Bachelors degree from Slippery Rock University, her Masters from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa. and attended the University of Pittsburgh working on her Doctorate.
She worked as the School Nurse at Farrell High and after 20 years, she retired to take on the Secretarial position of her then husbands Home Building company Meadows Construction in Washington County, Pa. She retired in 1999 and relocated to Ormond by the Sea.
She loved the theater and was actively involved in and occasionally served on the Board of Kopy Kats and Follies at the Performing Arts Center in Ormond Beach. She was known best for her role as Maxine the wise cracking old lady in bunny slippers but had many impressive roles to her credit.
Margo was a staunch supporter of the Republican Party and a proud and loyal American. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Elks Lodge and supported too many charities to mention. She loved football (Go Tampa Bay) second only to her church St. Brendan’s where she attended mass and sang Alto in the choir for several years.
An avid animal lover, Margo adored her pet dogs Ozzie and Poppy and her cats, Fonzie and Fancy. She was the Treasurer of the Triangle Cat Lovers Club of Pittsburgh, Pa. and spent weekends attending cat shows around the country winning innumerable awards.
But most of all she loved her family.
Margo was preceded in death by her brother Frank Carine, her parents Rose and James, and her former husbands Frederick Carrozzi and C. Edward Lowther. She is survived by her husband Albert Donovan of Ormond Beach, her daughter Regina Carrozzi-Howlett (Thomas Howlett), and granddaughter Cartier Rose Howlett of Boardman, Ohio.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 1:00pm on Saturday January 8, 2022, at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd. Ormond Beach, Fla, 32176. with a celebration of life gathering immediately following in the banquet room. The family will receive friends one half hour before mass in the church – at 12:30pm.
