I'm saddened here in Miami after reading about you, Peggy, in The Herald. It's that time in life that I read the obituaries, as my aunt would say, "To see if I'm in there." I've thought of you more than you would know, after you and Bob left Miami. You served as a stellar example of professional nursing while at Baptist. As a couple, you were a team that others looked up to in the organization. I'm impressed with your daughter's message here and the description of your life after Miami in the obituary. May you be encouraged, Bob, building on memories of 58 years of togetherness and the support of so many people around you who care.

    I miss you Mom.
Just as you requested, John and I am taking care of Dad the best we can.
He has been by your side for 58 years and is not quite sure what to do; He says we are are like Lewis and Clark in unchartered territory!
We so miss your laughter and your cooking.
I know you are looking down, laughing as we clumsily navigate the days without your guidance.
There was so much I wanted to say to you before you had to go....guess I'll have to save it until we meet again.
Dad is so thankful you chose to die in his arms, not in a hospital.
God we miss you, I have to go. We are waiting for the green kite. Don't forget.

Peggy was, and in my heart continues to be, a wonderful, special friend. The world will not be the same without her. We used to walk two miles to an hour long aerobic class, and then walk the two miles back home. Talking, sharing ideas, Peggy, you cannot be replaced. My deepest sympathy and love to her husband Bob, daughter America and all her brothers and sisters. We are all blessed to have known her and experienced her "light".

Rest in Peace Peggy. You touched my life both as a fellow employee at Baptist Hospital and when I was a breast cancer patient and you were there for me both as a nurse but mostly as a friend. You were the authentically kindest and most caring person to have touched my life. My prayers and thoughts to Bob (also one of the kindest people I was fortunate enough to work with at Baptist) and family . Peggy will be greatly missed. The world was a better place with her in it.
