Obituary
Margaret Catherine Keenan (Peggy) 68 of Ormond Beach, FL went home to the Lord on Saturday August 21, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Peggy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 1st, 1953 to James Frances Jacobs and Margaret May Jacobs (Strider).
Peggy was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended St. Clements Catholic School and was a 1971 graduate of West Catholic Girls High School. She then married her soulmate the late Stephen Aloysius Keenan and began building a family together. She also led a successful career in customer service and retail, she loved interacting with people and had a deep sense of satisfaction for serving others. In her earlier years she enjoyed weekends at the lakes in South Philly, summer camping trips to Cape May, also strolling the boardwalk of Wildwood. She then moved to Florida where she enjoyed walks along the Halifax River, beach days, and watching her youngest children play. She especially enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband. She also loved to sing when she thought no one was paying attention. In her later years, she adored the simpler things in life, like gardening, making the holidays extra special, cuddling with her fur babies Teanie and Chico, and spending as much time as she could with her large family. Peggy greatest achievement was her family whom she devoted her life and gave all of her love, unconditionally.
Peggy was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 50 years Stephen Aloysius Keenan, her parents: James and May Jacobs, Sisters: Eleanor Jacobs, Mary (Jacobs) Bierlein, Janice “Pam” Jacobs, and Rose Marie “Rosy” (Jacobs) Lane. Brothers: George Jacobs, Joseph “Bobby” Wycoff, and Half Brother: Lester “Mike” Robinson, Nephew: Darryl Scott, Mother and father in-law: Mary and Aloysius Keenan, Sister In-law: Marlene (Diehl) Keenan Brother In-laws: Patrick Keenan and Edward “Buddy” Knapp, and her fur babies: Gizmo and Chichi.
Peggy is survived by her children: Jeanette Keenan, Stephen Keenan, Dawn (Keenan) Cristinziani (Ben), Colleen Keenan, Dominic Keenan (Donna Nehme), and Stephanie Keenan (Eric Anderson). Her grandchildren: Clara Ramos, (Jeanette) Carissa Keenan and Alyssa Andrzejczyk (Stephen), Ben Jr and Nathaniel Cristinziani (Dawn), Amira, Alayah, and Caleb Keenan (Dominic), Cayden McGuildwin, Destiny and Avery Anderson, Wyatt Keenan, and Eric Gianni Anderson (Stephanie). Her great-grandchildren: Miranda and Avianna Copolka (Carissa), and Adriana Crews (Ben Jr). Her Sisters: Ellen “Celeste” (Jacobs) Billingsley (Bill) and Sandra “Sandy” Cerminaro (Joe). Her Nieces: Desiree Scott, Dana (Tobin) Reyes, Michele Jacobs, Margaret “Margie” (Brennan) Mott and Jodie Lynn Brennan, Adele (Billingsley) Becht and Celeste (Billingsley) Dougherty, Angela, Sandy, Jenifer, Ceminaro, and Christina (Ceminaro) Simone, Liz Ann Keenan, Robyn Jones and Samantha Keenan, Aylin and Rachel Keenan. Her Nephews: John Fuglio III, (Joanne) William “Billy Joe” Bierlein (Betty) and David Bierlein, James “Jimmy” and George Jacobs, Michael Tobin, Thomas Roberson and Michael Knapp, and Aj Keenan. Sister In-law: Mary (Keenan) Knapp, Brother In-laws: David (Betty Ann) Al and Robert Keenan. Including many great nieces and nephews, extended relatives and life long friends.
The memorial services will be held on Saturday September 18, 2021 beginning 6pm at Bailey Riverbridge Gardens located at 1 North Beach St Ormond Beach, FL 32174. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Faith Baptist Church at 497 Flomich Street Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
