Margaret Ann “Peggy” Lallo, 83
FT. MYERS BEACH, FL – Margaret Ann “Peggy” Lallo, 83, died on Saturday, August 27 at Shell Point Connected Living.
Born on December 30, 1938 in Sharpsville, PA, Peggy’s family moved to Burghill, OH when she was an infant. She resided in the Youngstown area for over 40 years and was a graduate of Vernon High School in 1956. She was also an active member of the Youngstown Maennerchor where she made many lifelong friends.
Peggy was a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 25 years and proudly identified as a caregiver the rest of her life. She later would become a volunteer at Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers after her retirement. In 1983, she moved to Ft. Myers with her husband, Pete, where they founded Pete’s Time Out, which has become a mainstay on Times Square at Ft. Myers Beach for nearly 40 years and is currently owned by their son, John and his wife, Debbie.
Peggy’s hobbies were sewing and knitting. She made clothes for her grandchildren (with matching doll outfits) and was known for her sock monkeys, which she learned and took over making from her mother, Esther. Peggy and Pete also loved to travel and were particularly fond of visiting Pete’s homeland of Germany.
Peggy was proceeded in death by her husband of 36 years, Pete Lallo, Sr., her brothers, John and George Martin, and her parents Guy and Esther Martin.
She is survived by her sons, David (Annie) Carter, Peter Lallo, Jr., Rick (Karen) Carter, and John (Debbie) Lallo, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be observed by her immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Peggy’s memory may be sent to Hope Hospice,
