Obituary

‘ Margaret Lucille Speakmon

(nee Russell)

December 26, 1934 – August 18, 2024

In her lifetime Margaret was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother. She worked as a waitress and then a Tool and Die maker until 1969 when she devoted the rest of her years to taking care of her family. She was called upon often to sit with extended family members, as a caretaker, during illness or after surgery. She was well known for her canning every year, especially her pickles. She loved her grandchildren and her dogs above all others. She had a giving heart and would help anyone in need. She will be missed by many.

Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Cora Lee Lewis and Walter Roy Russell, one brother who died as an infant, Thomas Albert Head, and her Granson, Chad Matthew Speakmon.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth A. Speakmon (Susan) and Dana K. Speakmon.  Among those surviving her are 4 grandchildren, Greg Speakmon (Trisha), Luke Devroy, Jenna Devroy (Freddy Pereira), Maureen Devroy. She had 7 great- grandchildren, Greta Pereira, Viola Lavelle, Nadia Crowe, Sofia Pereira Devroy, Fisher Crowe, Teagan Speakmon, And Ophelia Connor.

There will not be a service. The family will set a day to spread her ashes in accordance with her wishes,

In lieu of flowers or gifts the family asks that you donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.’
