Margaret S. Klikna passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2016.  She was born in South Euclid, Ohio on November 9, 1912 and is survived by her step-daughter Diane Klikna Craig (Larry) of North Carolina, nephews Gary and Steven Gates of Cocoa Beach, FL,  granddaughter Susan Nations Moore (George) of Lakeland, FL, grandson Robert J. Nations (Liz) of Phoenix, Arizona,  granddaughter  Lauren Craig of North Carolina, and two great-grandchildren, Eric and April Moore.

She was predeceased by her husband George F. Klikna, daughter Mary Ellen Nations, step-son George C. Klikna , brothers Talbert Gates and Norman Gates, and grandson Shane Craig.

Margaret was a long-standing resident of New Smyrna Beach, FL where she was a pillar in the community.  She was president and co-owner of Klikna-Downey Realty and served as the president of the New Smyrna Beach Board of Realtors and the Florida Association of Realtors.  She was also an active member of the New Smyrna Beach Yacht Club. In addition, she was listed in the “Who’s Who of American Women”.

Margaret graduated from Hiram College of Business in Ohio and was a strong independent woman at a time when women were expected to be housewives.  Although she was a career woman, she loved spending time with her family and having family gatherings at her house.   She also loved the ocean, boating and  traveling to foreign lands such as Europe, Greece, Spain, Denmark, and the Galapagos Islands, to name a few, and always by ship!
