Marguerite “Meg” Frances Rood – Sumner
Marguerite “Meg” Rood – Sumner, 94, went on home to be with Jesus on Dec. 31, 2015.
Meg was born on Jan. 18, 1921 in Warren, Ohio. Family moved to Detroit, Mich. where she grew up. She went to school at St. Rita School for the Deaf in Cinncinati, Ohio. She worked for Detroit Free Press for 50 years.
She had been a faithful member of Pentecostal of Apopka. She was well known & loved by the Deaf / Hearing Community.
Survived by her sons: John Rood, Orlando & Ron Rood, Sr., LaSalle, Mich
Adopted Daughter/caregiver: Debbie Bennett, Orlando, Fla.
Sisters: Annie Crafts, Oregon & Barbara Pasciak, Michigan.
Meg had 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren & 1 great great great granddaughter.
Pre deceased by her dearly beloved husband, James Rood, her precious daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Rood Benson, sons- Melvin “Butch” Rood & Robert Rood, Grandson, Mike Rood.
Memorial Service will be held on Jan. 15, 2016, 7 p.m. at Pentecostal of Apopka 1427 S. Lake Pleasant Rd.Apopka, Fla. 32703
