Obituary
Maria Teresa Granese 55, of Green Cove Springs, FL died suddenly Monday, November 11, 2019 at her home. Teresa was born November 26, 1963 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to the late Juan H. Jimenez and Julia I. Jimenez. Teresa moved to South Florida with her family in 1977. She married her high school sweetheart Gary Granese on June 10, 1989. Before Teresa and her family moved to Green Cove Springs in 2004, Teresa volunteered as CCD teacher with the Catholic Church and worked at Memorial Regional Hospital West as a grief counselor. Presently, Teresa worked for the Internal Revenue Service as an analyst, and held a Real Estate license for over 14 years. She loved music, singing and dancing. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends and, when her children were young, trips to Orlando for Mickey’s Magical Christmas. Teresa was known to be a good cook and enjoyed family dinners but her favorite restaurant was Chili’s. She loved “Goodwill Hunting” also known as garage sale shopping. She collected Willow Tree figurines and Pandora bracelets and charms. She almost always had a Yankee Candle burning to fill the house with their various scents. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Gary; two sons, Robert (Tori) of Orange Park, FL and Andrew of Green Cove Springs, FL; granddaughter, Mia; mother, Julia Jimenez of Pembroke Pines, FL; brother, Juan (Maria) Jimenez of Davie, FL; sister, Vilma Medley of New Smyrna Beach, FL; mother-in-law, Patricia Schoppaul of Pembroke Pines, FL; and two brother-in-law’s, Robert Granese of Pembroke Pines, FL and Michael Granese of Hollywood, FL. A Mass of Resurrection will be held 11:00AM Friday, November 22, 2019 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 701 N Hiatus Road, Pembroke Pines, FL and a Life Celebration will be held 4PM Monday, November 25, 2019 at Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL. A gathering will begin at 3PM prior to the service.
She loved my shrimp fried rice and fried fish!
We were instructors together for years. A beautiful, loving people person.
