Obituary

On Sunday, April 11, 2021 Marie Valerie Paletta Bauernfeind, loving wife and mother of four, passed away at the age of 79 at Stuart F Myers Hospice House in Palm Coast, FL. Marie was born on February 14, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to Alvina and Salvatore Paletta. She practiced radiologic technology for over 40 years in Florida. On August 31, 1963 she married the love of her life Robert Allen Bauernfeind. They had four children, Michael, Dawn, Bryan, and Kelly.

Marie had a passion for healthcare, travel, and antiques and created lifelong friendships doing the things she loved. She was known for her big heart and feisty personality, always taking a direct approach to conversation. She loved playing Yahtzee with her grandchildren and winning their quarters. She told everyone that would listen how much she loved and was so proud of Brandon, Taylor, Hayden, Tabatha, and Wyatt.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Bob, daughter Kelly, son Michael, parents Alvina and Salvatore, sister Joan, brother Bob and wife Fran, nephew Roy, niece Lisa, and brother- in-law Michael. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Swiderski and sons Brandon and Hayden, son Bryan and wife Aimee, and daughters Taylor and Tabatha, grandson Wyatt, nephews, and niece.

There will not be any formal services to honor her wishes. A celebration of life event will be held soon hosted by her daughter and son for immediate friends. In lieu of flowers, Marie would love for you to honor her legacy by donating to her grandson Brandon Swiderski’s charitable foundation. Donations in her name can be made to paypal.me/derskifdn or by check to Derski Foundation Inc 3120 Commonwealth Ave Charlotte, NC 28205.

A special thank you to her friend and neighbor Beverly for being a saving grace over the last 18 months, Bryan and I will be forever grateful. Thank you, Judy, for always loving her, getting in trouble with her, and spending time with her at the end. Stuart F Myers Hospice House nurses will forever have our gratitude.
